The Wolf and the seven kids follows the previous productions The Three Little Pigs and Little Red Riding Hood, creating a path on the figure of the wolf and of all that it means in the simple and instinctive imaginary of childhood and in the one more complex of the adult age. In the Wolf and the Seven Kids there is the inexperience and the ingenuity of seven kids that don’t know the world and thus trust the appearances…There is fear, the indifference of the other characters of the story for a quiet life: they understand the wolf’s plans and don’t stop his deeds although they know he is dangerous. There is the disguised voice, the changing of the appearance of the wolf. The devouring. The fortuity of the kids being devoured, except one that saves himself. The seventh kid that fortunately tells his mum what had happened. The desperate and effective attempt of mother goat to save her kids and to neutralize the menace. The wolf’s stomach being opened with a cut, the extraction of those devoured. The greed of the wolf that too quickly devours the kids and so can’t digest them and is overburdened because of them. The substitution of the kids with big stones. The wolf that perishes, drowning in a river where he went to quench his thirst. The memory of the terrible adventure that will be a lesson for the future. The re-establishment of the small group that treasures the adventure made and regains happiness.
